I love decorating for the holidays. Over the years, my style has gotten more minimalistic, and I’m drawn to simple things that focus on what I love the most. One of my favorite ways to decorate is to display photos of my family from previous holidays. Here are a couple of cute ways I display photos during the holiday/winter season.

1. Clothespin holiday photos onto ribbons
I’ll start with the way I display all of my holiday cards. I bought a few rolls of Christmassy ribbon at the craft store and tied it to fit around each of my cupboard doors. (You just see a double knot when you open the door.) I also bought some small red and green clothes pins to clip the cards on. You could easily paint some if you can’t find the colored versions. When the season is over, the ribbons just slip off the doors, and you can reuse them for years to come! (Search + Find Game: What Thanksgiving decor did I accidentally leave up in this photo? Ha!)

2. Replace Photos In Your Existing Frames
This one is super easy, and probably doesn’t even need an explanation. Just print holiday photos the right sizes to fit into the frames already on your wall or furniture, and swap them out. I even store the extra photos behind the one on display, so they are ready to go, and stay flat and dust free. I printed this Santa photo really large (20×30) and it is so fun to see during December!

3. Use place card holders to display photos… or get creative
I saw someone post an idea to use jingle bells as a place card holder for their Christmas dinner, and I immediately thought that would be such a cute way to display holiday photos for decor. Depending on the jingle bells you find, you may need to modify them a little. Mine had a little “topper” to add a string for a necklace, but I just removed that part so it could sit flat. I also squeezed the metal together a bit so it would grip the photo and hold it up. If jingle bells aren’t your thing, there are so many cute place card holders that would be adorable as photo holders as well… like these trees!

4. Snow Globe photo frames
I received one of these snow globe frames as a gift several years ago, and started out with some cute Christmas photos inside. I have mixed emotions about putting my Christmas decor away (I’m ready for open and clutter free spaces, but it is a little sad to have to put my favorite pieces away for another year). Then I had the idea to display photos of my babies playing in the snow, and leave them up throughout all of winter. My kids love walking by and shaking the snow globe to see their miniature self sit in the snow, and then place it facing with their photo outward (they are double-sided).

What other ways have you put your holiday photos on display?? I’d love to hear them, and incorporate your ideas into my home decor!
